Navjinder
From the energy of India to the calm of Bow Island, Navjinder has found the peace she was looking for.
Navjinder Bhangu moved to Bow Island two years ago, and immediately noticed the quiet living. She moved from a bigger city in India, and although it was a big transition in the beginning, she quickly learned that she enjoys living in a smaller community.
“When I first moved here, I immediately noticed how nice everyone is who lives in Bow Island. People here are really friendly and generous,” says Navjinder.
Bow Island is a town in Alberta with a beautiful city park, campground, and many multi-activity spaces. Navjinder finds herself outdoors when she’s not working.
“I go to the parks here, and there are always a lot of other people out and about. I love interacting and socializing with them, and browsing the whole town every day,” she says.
Not only are the outdoor spaces a nice place to enjoy the day, but the downtown offers a handful of local shops, including the Rolling Pin Bakery, Island Mexican Store, and more.
Navjinder says the town still has what she needs nearby. And if there is something she needs to travel for, Medicine Hat is only a 35 minute drive away.
“People ask why I live in Bow Island, and it’s the whole environment. The whole community and everything over here is good. And we have a hospital. I am more of a person who likes to stay and live in a quiet and peaceful place, so Bow Island is the place for me,” says Navjinder.
