Corinna

Guided by her passion for people, Corinna helps shape a stronger Bow Island through her work with FCSS.

Corinna Rothbeacome was born and raised in Bow Island and is the executive director of the Family and Community Support Services (FCSS), a regional organization that guides families to support programs, funds and elevates events where they can, and hosts accessible gatherings for families.

The family playtimes, library readings, and summer fun programs are a few ways that FCSS supports Bow Island and surrounding area, and the organization services residents from young families to seniors.

We don’t do it on our own. We do it as collaboratively as possible with other organizations,” says Corinna.

That is what’s so unique about smaller rural communities like Bow Island. We understand what it means to partner, so we can build a stronger community for our families,” says Corinna.

She says being connected to the people providing the support and having the ability to be unique and creative in how they partner, it’s great to keep residents healthy and prospering.

We have a full circle of support organizations, and then we ask ourselves what it needs to look like to keep our community strong. We see that value in pulling families together through events like the Children’s Festival, Santa Skates, and Christmas Light Parade, as well as offering one on one services for families, like counseling or safety demonstrations,” says Corinna.

FCSS brings another layer of support to services and events already happening in Bow Island and the region, “We are happy to be the landing spot for people where we can connect them to where they need to be.
